Early one November morning, the four of us headed to the National Arboretum in DC for a family photo session. The last time we captured the four of us, was shortly after Connor was born, and since both boys have changed dramatically since then, I figured the time was ripe to bookmark this stage of our lives.
This is such a crazy season of life. We are busy and happy, exhausted yet fulfilled. The happiness that I experience in one moment with Ryan and Connor, is so pure and pleasant, and on the other hand, some moments can be so frustrating. There is so much give and take, and balancing a family's needs is such a see-saw, teeter-totter act. Up and down, back and forth, thrilling and tiring, pure work and pure joy. These days the boys are growing so much; their bodies are changing, their language improves, they become more aware and interactive and engaging. Each day, the personalities in our family become more pronounced and unique. Our roles are more clear and defined, and we find comfort in settling into ourselves and the people who we are today—acknowledging that we may have new roles and opportunities to grow and change even more tomorrow.
Thanks to Little Bud Photography for capturing these moments!
