This past weekend we drove to Wilmington, North Carolina, to visit my brother and sister-in-law. They’ve been living on the coast for a couple of years, and we always enjoy when we are able to visit them. We had been planning this trip for a while, but the visit was even more special because they just sold their condo and are making plans to RV road trip across the country starting this summer. So this was our last chance to see them in Wilmington and bond over some beach time.
I stood in the ocean next to Ryan, holding his tiny hand, and watching a smile spread across his face as each wave made our feet sink deeper into the sand. I couldn’t stop thinking about how old he seemed. He was so sweet and eager, playful and courageous, and it made me to happy to be his mom, and so excited about the little person he is becoming. And then I watched Connor crawl across the sand, charging his way to the water, fearlessly discovering this new world and laughing as the waves rushed in on his small legs. It was a good time had by all, and we made some pretty great memories too. Now we're looking forward to visiting Eric and Rebecca on their journey around America.
