As we approach the end of each year, I always find myself eager to make some resolutions. This year, I’ve been feeling overwhelmed by stuff. By the things we don’t really need, and by things that create waste or have only one, single use. By the stuff that takes up space and gets forgotten. Basically I’m craving a clean slate.
And so my resolution in 2018 is to declutter. To declutter the spaces behind closed doors, the closets and cabinets and drawers; the spaces in the open, on countertops and shelves; and the spaces in my mind, too... It’s time to clean up and clean out. Open up room for fresh air and daylight and space to breath. I want to spend less, acquire less, and maybe even, sometimes, do less. I want to pursue less stuff and more mindfulness; less noise and more peace.
