This past weekend we visited Brookside Gardens in Maryland, to see the tulips in bloom. The 50-acre public gardens are filled with plants, flowers, trees, fountains and ponds—and it's the perfect space to let the boys loose and explore.
In addition to the tulips, through the spring and summer each year, Brookside holds a Wings of Fancy Live Butterfly & Caterpillar Exhibit; this year it's open from April 18-Sept. 16. At the exhibit you can view hundreds of live butterflies that fly by moving from one flower to the next. It's always special to see butterflies up close, but this experience was extra sweet, watching the boys share their discovery and excitement together.
After our time at Brookside, we drove to the nearby Wheaton Regional Park, for a ride on the train and some time at the playground.
