We spent last weekend at the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. Time away from the routine, and especially time to let the boys run free, always helps me loosen up a little bit—to let go of the things that seem overwhelming during the week and to appreciate the simple things that are really the most important. It's in these moments, where I strongly feel the urge to remember; to remember the things that are true to Ryan and Connor and our family and our life, right now.
I want to remember that Connor calls a guitar a 'sing song.'
How the boys will wake in the morning and if I'm showering they will come in the bathroom and patiently lay on the floor with their blankets while I get ready.
Both Ryan and Connor love to dance and they each have their own style; Connor more physical jumping and grooving with his whole body and all of his limbs, and Ryan a little more smooth ;) stretching his legs and full body rolling on the floor.
How Ryan puts small dabs of lavender oil on his feet and hands before bed at night and calls it his 'power.'
I want to remember how they seemed like little, perfect birds playing on the beach, running so fast at the edge of the waves as they rushed in and swept out.
